Sale of Champions!

she had the sillys. couldnt get a pic of her without the big cheese

Each year in January the Lincoln County Jr Livestock Association holds a "sale of champions". this is where the 4-H and FFA members are given the chance to auction off their market animal. Business owners from Brookhaven and surrounding areas come out to support these kids. Last year was a bit more dramatic for my little ones than this year was.  No tears, no fits. I was so proud. This was john-rivers first year to auction one of his own animals. He still looks so tiny up next to those big steers. his 50# up next to a 1070# steer. BIG THANKS to Brett for being the buyer for sweet thang. Layne was graced with the honor of having the highest priced sale. BIG THANKS to Uncle Perry and Farm Bureau for buying his steer. Good Times were had. I dug Ramsey out of a pig pen more than once this night.  The following morning John-Rivers was on the front page of the Daily Leader. A star is born. lol. Ramsey was not so happy about his picture being in the paper instead of her. Can you say competitive

HNY 2012 hear we come

Well we made it to a new year. I plan to tackle 2012 with as much energy that I can. No big new years resolutions. I'm keeping them simple this year. Drink more water. Wear more wrinkle cream. And laugh as much as possible. I did start P90X yesterday. But only because the gym is a little crowded. I plan to keep my workout at home for the next month or so, till the new year resolution gym goers either get settled in or quit. Of coarse home workouts have there challenges. This afternoon my children decided they wanted to workout too. Since my equipment was still in the living room when they came in from school. Funny pics to follow soon. Even though it is comical to watch. And this video is geared toward adults. I feel a small since of pride that exercise is fun for them. I can only hope and pray they continue to love it. I will also be doing some home decor improvements this year. Started this back in october and hopefully I will be able to keep it up. I hope that all my friends and family have a great and productive 2012.
