Gobble Gobble

I really hate there are no pictures to go with this post, but oh well life goes on....sorry. I spent the first half of my Thanksgiving sleeping since i worked Wednesday night. I woke up just in time to hit up Nana's house before the goods were put away. So yummy, i ate way too much. The children always have a great time playing with Holly's girls, and of coarse Layne ended up going home with Kamron. It makes me smile to see them spend time with cousins. But not before i lost my cool with him. Mother informed me that i embarrassed myself and her, I'm really sorry for that!! You would think that after living with a night nurse for 10 years Layne would know not to push my buttons when I'm sleep deprived. apparently he has not learned this valuable lesson. UNTIL TODAY! He said i didn't embarrass him though, he knew it was coming. LOL!!!! JR took off hunting with Josh. I love when my children get to have one on one attention. That is rare in our house. So with the boys gone Ramsey and i headed home in hopes of a nap before work. That didn't happen....Ramsey has outgrown the napping stage. Back to work I went for the typical holiday night shift.....shouldn't everyone be at home sleeping off their turkey?  Guess they didn't want me to get bored. Ha. Even though my day was filled with a little chaos and very little sleep I am very aware that my days are numbered as the mom of 2 young children and a teen.  One day i will take a bath without having 3 conversations going on from the other side of the door. I will be able to eat before supper gets cold. I will have a clean house. And the taxi service will shut down. Today on thanksgiving, and everyday until these days come, I am thankful that that day is not today. I am embracing my moments of chaos, because that means embracing my 3 amazingly crazy wild kids. God has blessed me beyond ALL measures!!!!! THANK YOU GOD FOR MY BUSY LIFE FULL OF CHAOS AND KIDS!

The itsy bitsy spider

typical day of John-Rivers torturing his little sister. Ramsey loves bugs. But she draws the line at spiders, and JR knows this. Just in case you cant understand her through the tears. She is saying that John-Rivers wont let her exercise aka ride her bike. And when i ask her what he has, she replies,  a daddy long legs. Please notice that she is scratching. This is what Ramsey does when she sees spiders. She itches, even if they never touch her. LOL

A little dirt won't hurt

Tower Tracks in Fluker, Louisiana...the most fun i have had minus kids in a long time. Its hard to make plans, between my work, Josh's work, and the kids schedules. Its rare that our free day falls on our friend's free day. So when it did we jumped on our chance. Loaded up the ATV and headed to La for a little play time in the mud. The pictures really speak for themselves. Can't wait to do it again. But next time I'd like to take the kids with me. I really missed them, and i know how much they love playing in the mud (just like their mom).

we are clean here
not so clean here

mud races! WAY more entertaining than NASCAR!

the mud ate Josh's shoes

Yeah we zip tied the wheel on the rim.
Don't worry ya'll!
we made back to the trailer and the tire was
easily fixed w a little brake cleaner
and a lighter!
good as new

Today i attended my very last Thanksgiving Feast. Complete with paper bad vest and construction paper feathers. I am not at all happy about this. I dont like it when we hit the "lasts". I know that isnt a word. I am so grateful that i have a job that allows me to attend these type of events. I was a little sleep deprived but i was there. Attending the last event is just as important as attending the first.  All the little Indians did a great job.

Bringing home the meat

Layne is growing up so fast...i know i say this all the time. He set his alarm, woke up, and went to his deer stand all by himself. I'm so proud!

COLORS FALLING AROUND ME

I am a night nurse and drive over an hour to and from work 3 nights a week. I often use this time as my quiet time. Some days I don't even turn on the radio. Working in an emergency room and taking care of 3 wild crazy kids on my off days leaves very little time for personal thoughts.  For the past several weeks as i drive home in the mornings I have been watching the leaves change.  Fall is such a beautiful season.  I cant help but think about our awesome Creator when I see all the colors changing and the leaves falling. Fall is a season to remind us that no matter what is going on in our life at this time, everything changes. There will be a day when you can shed your leaves, it may make you feel naked or exposed for a time. But sometimes we have to take it all off(figuratively speaking...lol) to see our new growth that wants to bloom through in our next season of life.  There is a famous saying that I'm pretty sure no one knows who said it first.....take the time to smell the roses.  I think that during this season of fall we should take the time to watch all these beautiful colors fall around us. I am so thankful that God took the time to make such a beautiful world. Full of color and changing seasons.  So take a back road....go slow....and enjoy this beautiful season.

John-Rivers playing in his last soccer game. Its been a great season. Big thanks to Coach Greg Knight and  Mr. Brown for taking the time to teach these kids about the sport.  Hopefully we will see yall next year!

HAPPY HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Everyone knows i love Halloween. Costumes are abundant at my house. They are so abundant we loan them out on several occasions a year. It's just a good idea to own things like Indian dresses, head pieces, mardi gras mask, cat ears, or even a drink hat.  Never know when u may need a drink hat....LOL. This year John-Rivers' costume was a big hit. Everywhere we went people just thought he made the cutes gangster. Ramsey was a vampire. This was her first year to go scary. I thing she liked it, Fake blood and all. Layne had his own separate plans for Halloween week that didn't include us. But i did talk him into going to my friend Robin's house for her annual Halloween game party as we call it. She is the only person i know that can successfully throw an organized party were there is an activity planned for each minute we are there. This is always fun! Layne was a redneck nascar fan.  He pulled that off well, surprised???? NO!  I then delivered him to his teen party and the munchkins and i headed to Percy Quin to meet Josh and do a little TRICK OR TREATING. We had a great time and the kids loaded up on candy that i will have to dispose of later. I was an LSU cheerleader. All 3 kids love that i still dress up with them. On Monday, Halloween i dressed them up again and we did a little old fashioned trick or treating as JR calls it. We loaded up in the jeep and drove door to door. By the time we left Memaws and Nana's their bags were full but we made a few more stops just to show off our costumes. Layne and Kamaron then stood in line for 2 hours to go through the Wesson haunted feed mill. I hope that this was a Halloween to remember. And of coarse next year we will try to trump it.

Golf on Horses

Out of the mouths of babes......A polo match was in a movie Ramsey was watching one day, and she just started giggling. I asked her what was so funny? Momma that is the silliest thing i have ever seen. Why are those guys playing golf on horses?  LOL....I couldn't come up with an answer.  So I just giggled right with her and said I have no idea.
