Im 12 again.

Tonight I took the kids skating at the very same skating rink i went to when i was a kid. The carpet is the same. They have the same skates. Some of the music is even the same. Took forever to find the right size skates for the 2 little ones and to lace them up and get them tied good. But finally (3days later) we step out on to the floor. John-Rivers had a very hard time with this. He is usually good at everything and it was very hard for him to accept that this did not come naturally. He never gave up. And at the end of the night he was doing pretty good. Ramsey on the other hand can skate. She looks very funny doing it, but she rarely falls. Layne even enjoyed this outing. When Layne falls, he falls hard. He thinks he has to show out for the girls and ends up biting the dust. I am happy to say that i was the only one that didn't fall all night. I am also the only person over the age of 16 in a pair of skates. It made me sad to see all those parents sitting on the side line. I'm proud to not be the sideline mom. I had just as much fun as they did.

Tree time

Bye bye turkey day, hello Christmas! I usually start decorating for Christmas way before Thanksgiving even starts. But for some reason we are running late this year. The tree went up today and JR and Ramsey loved helping. I think we have 1459 ornaments. Give or take....Or at least it seems like we do. It didn't take long for JR's army men to find their way to the tree. (we have army men strategically placed all over the house)

MMA

Attended the MMA fights tonight with Josh. He loves UFC fighting and had never attended, SO i thought it would be something fun to do. Its always nice to have a day off to spend with those that are special in your life. My pick didn't win tonight....but he still did great. Better luck next time. Hoping to attend another one really soon.

SCOUT THE ELF

arriving at our house yesterday was our very own elf on a shelf. this has got to be the cutest idea ever. i was extremely pumped about introducing this little fellow to our family. i thought what a fun night this is going to be. so after we ate and got comfy in our PJs i opened the box and read the story to the children. in the story it explains that you have to quickly name the elf in order for him to get out of the box and become a member of the family. AND HERE WE GO............my house went from calm and attentive to WWE meets UFC cage fight in 5.0 sec. Ramsey wanted to name him mojo. JR wanted to name him Sam. and Layne wanted to name him Elmer. my sweet night had just went sour. screaming, yelling, hair pulling, body slamming, and lots of crying on the 2 little ones part. maybe this elf was not such a good idea. we put all the names in a hat and drew.....that didn't even work. so to bed they went. i had had enough of all this fighting. the next morning when the elf was still in the box the kids were very disappointed. i told them that the elf was afraid to get out of the box after the way they acted and until they all agreed on a name he would remain there. so with Josh's help they all agreed on scout......after all he is a scout elf. so our Christmas with scout begins.

Holiday Season

Im a huge music lover...concerts, radio, ipod.......rock, country, jazz, pop, rap....havent heard alot of music i didnt like.  So naturally the holiday season brings a whole set of joys, but the fact that there is an entire genre of music out there for it makes it even better. The kids know that as soon as Halloween is over let the Christmas music begin. Some people think that this is way too soon to start, but we only have 2months a year to listen to these fabulous songs. So November the first is here and the Brown family will begin now. We will rock around the Christmas tree, jingle bell rock, and have silent nights till we are red and green and white all over, full of the holiday spirit.  Tis the Season.....and what a wonderful season it is. I hope everyone else out there has a super great season. Lets make some
