BOO Y'ALL
Anyone who has ever known me for more than a year knows that i LOVE halloween. Its my favorite of all the holidays. Maybe its because i get to put out skulls and ghost and no one thinks its crazy. Or maybe it because black is my favorite color. It couldnt possibly be that i get to dress up like anything i want and prance around for an entire day pretending to be someone im not.....Ha. But what ever the reason its true....i love this time of year. Listening to monster mash and wearing cat ears to work is plus also. The kids and i always find one of the warehouse halloween shops to play in. And its the only time of year that candy is not a big no no at my house. Ramsey went over board this year and had 3 different costumes. John-Rivers was ninja for the 4th year straight. (next year im putting my foot down) But Layne Brown had the best costume of all. Im proud of this one. Bret Micheals.....the hat, the hair, the makeup....it was fabulous. We attended several parties this season, but on Halloween night we gathered with Josh's family at Percy Quinn state park for tricker treating and grilling in a family friendly atmosphere. We had so much fun, and the kids collected so much candy. We even talked Josh into putting on Layne's costume, hilarious! Several days after Halloween mom took kids trunk or treating at East Haven. By this time their costumes were played out so we dug into our stash of Mardi Gras mask. Mom said that would be good enough. I couldnt help but laugh out loud at my 2 munchkins as the left for that one last trick or treat for the year......dressed in their street clothes with masks on looking like Micheal Jackson's children.

State Fair Time
Cotton candy, turkey legs, funnel cakes, and taffy. These things only taste good at the fair. We are fair goers! We attend at least 4 a year. Merry Go Rounds, Zippers, Rings of Fire. This is the way my family satisfies there dangerous side. Safely locked down on the roller coaster. HA. John-Rivers was almost tall enough to ride everything this year. I'm having him stretched before next year so i don't have to listen to him whine about it. We brought the steer and the bull up here to of coarse. Its not all fun and games we have a little work to do too. But we sure did have fun while we were there. sitting around the barn and visiting with family and friends is just as much part of it to me as being on the midway. Extra great surprise this year. My bestest snot face brought her 2 mini-mes to see us. Love seeing old friends!Saturday, October 2, 2010
BIBBITY...BOBBITY...BOO!
oh what fun. its that time of year again. PUMPKIN TIME! it is so much fun going to the pumpkin patch and taking 10,000 years to pick out just the right pumpkin. pick them all up, inspect them, put them down, and return to the first one you picked up. Mitchelle farms is a great pumpkin patch to choose. we always have so much fun. this is one little thing that we do together every year. corn maze is always fun. my goal during this maze is not to find the end. i leave that part to the kids. my personal goal is not to lose john-rivers. this is quite a challenge. i was successful this year, WOO HOO. the covered wagon tour is my favorite part. i always learn something new.
